Last night I attended Easter Seals New Hampshire 75th Anniversary Dinner at the Radisson Hotel in Manchester, NH. Over 600 guests enjoyed a terrific dinner while a unique T.V. Talk Show format was used to present guest speakers and interview former recipients of Easter Seals services over the years. The hosts of the event were my good friends Charlie Sherman and Cathy Burnham Martin both did an excellent job of keeping the audience involved throughout the entire event.
Before the event ended, Bellman Jewelers donated a Charles Kyrpell 18k Yellow Gold and Diamond Necklace to be raffled off to one lucky attendee. To make it fun we decided to have each person attending stand up and hold one of four cards they received in the gift bags. The choices were either a 7 or a 5 representing the 75th Anniversary or a copy of their old Easter Seals logo or their new logo. I was then asked to select one of the four choices from a large red box and the process of elimination began. Within just a few short minutes we had reduced the guests to two finalist. They were both brought up on stage and placed back to back. After a few misfires, (they both kept selecting the same number to hold up) we finally grew the last number and our winner was Michelle Drago.
It turns out that Michelle has been involved with Easter Seals for several years and her son Alex was the Easter Seals Child Representative from 2002 – 2004. The necklace could not have gone to a more deserving person and Bellman’s was pleased to be play a part in this fantastic evening.
